VICKIE MARIE SCHNEPF, age 59, of Madison Lake, formerly of Janesville, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at her home.
Born on September 12, 1961, in Mankato to David and Marilyn (Frederick) Hammett. Vickie grew up in Janesville and graduated from Janesville High School with the class of 1980. On October 1, 1983, Vickie was united in marriage to Brad Schnepf at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Together they lived in Janesville and were blessed with two children before moving to the country where they spent the next 25 years, they were recently divorced. Vickie worked at various places cleaning for Service Master and Partners in Grime. She also worked as a cook at the Bears Den, Colony Court, and Senior Center. She was a great cook and baker; nobody ever went home hungry when Vickie was in the kitchen. She always made sure there was plenty of desserts for visitors and family. Vickie was one of a kind! She was hard working, generous, and caring as she was always there for her family and friends to lend a helping hand. Above all her family meant the world to her, Vickie never missed one of her daughter’s pageants nor one of her son’s races. She will be dearly missed!
Survived by her children: Heather (Brent) Smisek of Owatonna and Cody (Brandi) Schnepf of Waldorf; grandchildren: Nora and future granddaughter Smisek and Deslyn Schnepf; former husband, Brad Schnepf of Janesville; brothers: Tom (Edith) Jurgens of Windom; Scott (Lisa) Hammett of Madison Lake, Jim (Julie) Hammett of Janesville and Brian (fiancé, Stacy Hohenstein) Hammett of St. Peter; aunt, Betty (Gary) Ewert of Janesville; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: Ben and Theresa Frederick, and Delores and Cleo Hammett; step grandfather, Ed Hendrickson; sister, Debbie (Charles) Brandmire; uncle, Richard Frederick; aunt, Rosie Frederick.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville with Rev. Brian Johnston, officiating. Interment will be in St. John – Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
