Thomas Earl Snedeker

Thomas Earl Snedeker, age 61, of Janesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca.

Tom was born on September 2, 1965, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Mark and Mary Russell Snedeker. He graduated from Storm Lake Senior High School in 1984. He later attended the University of Louisville. On September 9, 1994, he married Nancy Hibma in Worthington, Minnesota. Together, they shared many years of love, family, and memories.

Tom worked in the trucking industry as a truck driver and owner/operator. He eventually purchased his own truck and was leased to Raye Trucking. Throughout his working life, he took pride in his work and the independence that came with being a trucker.

Tom was a member of a Baptist church and enjoyed many activities in his free time. He loved hunting, fishing, racing, and traveling. He especially loved living the lake life with Nancy on Lake Sarah. Above all, family was an important part of his life, and he will be remembered by those who knew him for the memories they shared together.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughter, Shannon (Doug) Culhane of Janesville; two grandchildren, Cassidy Possin of Richfield, Chloe Possin of Minneapolis; siblings, Jane (Bob) Owen of Apex, NC; Joel (Colleen) Snedeker of Newport, NC; Sharon Snedeker of Denton, TX; and Maureen (Doug) Lauritson of Conners, GA, Tammy (Jay) Sassman of Storm Lake, IA, Noel (Deb) Snedeker of Niceville, FL, Marvin Martel of McAllen, TX, Cynthia Gifford of Sun City, FL; Susan Snedeker, and sister-in-law Barb (Larry) Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Mary Snedeker; his parents-in-law, Max and Lucille Hibma; and his siblings, Mark Snedeker, Sandra Schmidt, William Snedeker, and Michael Snedeker.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Janesville rescue squad and first responders and to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mayo Clinic in Waseca for their care and compassion.

Memorial service for Tom will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
