Sherry Kay Landrum

June 8, 1955 — February 9, 2026

North Mankato

Sherry Kay Landrum passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, at Vista Prairie at North Pointe Senior Assisted Living in North Mankato, MN.

Sherry was born on June 8, 1955, in Alameda, California to Lyle and Eva (Bolte) Williams. As a young child, Sherry lived in various places along the West Coast and in the Philippines while her father served in the military. After her family settled in South Dakota, Sherry graduated from Elkton High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from South Dakota State University. Sherry welcomed her daughter, Laura, and later married Patrick Landrum on September 13, 1997, in Blue Earth County, blending their families and lovingly raising their children together.

Sherry’s career started in the classroom as a Spanish professor at Mankato State College, where she shared her love of language. In time, she chose to stay home with her family, balancing motherhood with a variety of part-time roles. Sherry’s love for Spanish extended beyond the classroom; she found joy in Spanish-language soap operas and in meaningful conversations with fellow Spanish speakers. Sherry was deeply artistic, enjoying many forms of art but especially expressing herself through drawing and photography. Fascinated by genealogy, Sherry carefully uncovered and preserved her family’s story, tracing it across many generations. She took joy in feeding the birds and squirrels; her yard was home to the fattest squirrels on the block. Sherry and Patrick shared a love of karaoke, happily turning it into one of their favorite pastimes. Of all the roles she cherished, being a grandmother was Sherry’s favorite. She delighted in keeping her grandchildren busy with an endless supply of fun, laughter, and activities.

Sherry will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Laura (Brandon) Lindsey; step-children, Lynette (James) Arkema, Rachelle (Trevor) Nilson, Sarah Robertson, Ashley (Nick) Johannes, Jason Landrum, Kellie (Derek) Gorny, and Angela (Dominic Evans) Jeffries-Sherwood; grandchildren, Jonathon, Noah, Mia, Pearson, Edison, Madison, Alyssa, Adam, Emma, Abby, Emma, Ashton, Alexander, Isaiah, Vincent, Heather, Olive, Harper, Ella, Joshua, Lucy, and Amelia; brothers, Wayne (Dee), Warren (Donna), and Larry (DeAnn); nieces, Amber (Paul Riley) Morlock and Macy (James Fischer) Williams; nephew, Kyle Williams; her dear friend, Rodger; along with many in-laws, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pat; sister, Linda Hillmer; mother-in-law, Marti Zimprich; sister-in-law, Kay Landrum; and her loving pup, Kuro.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church; Pastor Jillene Gallatin will officiate. Sherry’s family will greet guests at a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian, MN.
