SADIE MILDRED (LUSTY) TABER, age 100, of rural Eagle Lake died surrounded by family Wednesday, January 3, 2024, following heart failure at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Mankato.
Sadie Mildred was born April 20, 1923 in Sugar Bush Township, Becker County rural Ogema, MN to Ivan and Anna (Aho) Lusty. She attended country school. She was united in marriage to Marvin L. Taber on September 10, 1943 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in rural Eagle Lake on the farm where Marvin was born and raised. They farmed, raised pigs and milked cows for many years until retirement. Sadie kept very busy raising four children, gardening, and making flower beds, multiple crafts, wood working, embroidery, sewing and being an avid bingo player where she lived at New Perspective Living in Mankato later in life. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Eagle Lake.
Sadie is survived by one son, Roger (Margaret) Taber of Mankato; one daughter, Linda (Robert) Oachs of Mankato; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; son, Allen Taber; son, Carson Taber; parents, Ivan and Anna Lusty; mother and father-in-law; seven siblings; and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Eagle Lake Cemetery.
