WILLARD L. ROEMHILDT , age 90 of Elysian, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Traditions in Waterville.

Born on June 23, 1923 in rural Elysian, Minnesota he was the son of T. Walter and Helena (Quiram) Roemhildt.  Willard attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Parochial School.  He married Nydia Peterson on November 4, 1942 at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church.   Together they lived and farmed in Elysian Township, Le Sueur County.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially raccoons.  Willard was a member of St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church and was a charter member of the Silver Lakers Sportsman Club.

He is survived by three sons, Aaron (Dorothy) Roemhildt of Elysian, Stewart (Susie) Roemhildt of Elysian, and Gaylen (Collette) Roemhildt of Waterville; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary Lee (Calvin) Hill of Pine City, June Fischer of Shell Lake, WI and Arlene Peterson of Le Center and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson, and two brothers-Marvin and Elmer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter’s “Bell” Lutheran Church with Rev. Russ Grabau officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.
