Robert William Quade

ROBERT “BOB” WILLIAM QUADE, age 73, of Fairmont passed away on June 27, 2026 surrounded by family in Waseca.

Robert "Bob" Quade was born on May 8, 1953, in Trimont, Minnesota, to Lyder and Ella (Mekosch) Quade. He attended Fairmont High School and graduated with the Class of 1971. Following high school, Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army as a cook. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to Fairmont. Robert was united in marriage to Karen Thate. Together, they had three children: Amy, Ryan and Tori, and later divorced.

On December 11, 1993, Bob was united in marriage to Sadie Beatrice Quade (Torres) at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Together they shared many years of love, laughter, and devotion to family.

Throughout his life, Bob worked for several area businesses, including Country Kitchen, 3M, The Ranch, Fairmont Foods, Kerry Ingredients. Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, and camping at Cedar Lake in Trimont. He treasured time spent with family and friends and especially enjoyed making memories with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bob was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and American Legion Post 36 in Fairmont.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sadie Quade of Fairmont; children, Toby Torres, Veronica (Matt) Bartz, Wendy (Cory) Modgling, Ryan (Jody) Quade, and Tori Quade; 24 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger (Nadine) Quade, Shirley Kosbab, Marie Shumski, Marcella Shumski, Webb (Dar) Quade, Vi (Randy) Tilk, and Dawn (Jeff) Kot; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Quade; his parents, Lyder and Ella Quade; siblings, Shari (David) Worden, and Lyder (Nancy "Jeanette”) Quade Jr.

Bob will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, his appreciation of the outdoors, and the kindness he shared with those around him. His memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial service for Bob will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont.
