ROBERT “LYLE” LINN KELLING, age 73 of Waseca, died at his home on the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Lyle was born in Waseca on September 25, 1952, to parents Lyle W. and Ella E. (Kruger) Kelling. He attended Waseca schools and graduated with the Bluejay class of 1970 before continuing his education at St. Olaf and later the University of Minnesota. On July 2, 1977, he was united in marriage to Nancy Andrejewski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, and together they raised two daughters. Lyle worked in customer service at Brown Printing for many years and made many lasting friends there. He attended church in Otisco for much of his adult life. Lyle loved taking road trips to anywhere and everywhere, and he was an avid sports fan (particularly the Gophers) and he never tired of tuning in to Sports Center on ESPN or catching any game he could. He will continue to be greatly loved and sorely missed.
Lyle is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Nancy Kelling of Waseca; two daughters, Abby (Randy) Bartz of Waseca and Sagan (Curt) King of Winnebago; four grandchildren, Ryley, Brandon, Wyatt, and Harper Bartz; a sister, Donna (Gary) Feucht of Burnsville; and siblings-in-law James (Kris) Andrejewski of Woodstock, GA, and Corinne Kelling of Minnetonka. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; his parents-in-law, Paul and Mary Andrejewski; two brothers, Gordon Kelling and Jim (Kathy) Kelling; and two sisters-in-law, Julie Andrejewski and Vicki Andrejewski.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Friends and family are encouraged to wear University of Minnesota Golden Gophers gear in honor of Lyle. Visitation will be held for one hour before the prayer service at the funeral home. Friends may join Lyle’s family for continued celebration at the Waseca American Legion following the service.
