Robert Allen Amsrud

ROBERT ALLEN AMSRUD, age 68, of Waseca died peacefully on October 24, 2023 at his home.

Born on May 19, 1955, in Waseca, he was the son of George and JoAnn (Wilker) Amsrud. Bob received his education at Waseca Public School. On May 18, 1974, Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ann Flintrop at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Together they lived in several homes throughout their married life but always in the Waseca Area. Although Bob and Mary never had any children of their own, Bob always held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. Additionally, he was proud to be a part of raising boys who he considered to be related by heart. Bob and Mary also cared for several children through foster care. Bob worked for various companies throughout his life as a machinist, tiler, and mechanic, but his real passion was vehicles. Bob loved detailing and restoring vehicles, as well as buying and selling at auctions. He started a local car club in Waseca called “Impressive Toys Car Club”. In his spare time, he also enjoyed woodworking.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Ann of Waseca; sister, Stacy Amsrud; his family related by heart: Barb, Ashton and Marcus Hughes; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Marty Flintrop, Helen (Jim) Hanks, Marcy (Leo) Vieths, Steve (Julie) Flintrop, Bernie (Theresa) Flintrop, Pat Flintrop, Rose Swanson, John Flintrop, Paul Flintrop, and Angie Flintrop.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Dolores Flintrop; many aunts and uncles.

Memorial service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in rural Waseca. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the time of the service at the funeral home.
