Robert 'Bob' A. Kuschel

ROBERT "BOB" ARTHUR KUSCHEL, age 83 of Waseca, formerly of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away at his home in Waseca on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

Born in Clintonville, WI on February 7, 1936, Robert was the son of Frank and Lillie (Ebert) Kuschel.  He attended St. Martin Lutheran school as a boy, and later graduated from Clintonville High School.  On August 17, 1957 Bob married Jean Nelson at the United Methodist Church in Appleton, WI.  He went on to serve in the United States Air Force for eight years, and it was while he and Jean were stationed in Guam that they began their family.  Upon returning to the U.S. Bob worked at Marion Body Works in Marion, WI until 1965.  They later moved to Waseca where Bob and his brother Ron established Delta Truck Body, Inc. – a business they continued to operate until his retirement in 1999.  In their retirement, Bob and Jean lived at Golden Vista RV Resort, just outside Apache Junction, AZ for over twenty years, until returning to Waseca in 2019.  He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, as well as the Waseca American Legion and the former Waseca Eagles Club.  He was also an avid bowler, enjoyed auto and tractor restoration, loved fishing, and was a gifted wood worker who especially enjoyed creating The Lords Prayer plaques (of which he has crafted 122 pieces), all kinds of fix-it projects, and home remodeling.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jean of Waseca; four children, Bobbi (Dean) Peterson of Waseca, Deb (Jeff) Krause of Waseca, Cindy Kuschel of Apple Valley, and Bill (Geraldine) Kuschel of Waseca; six grandchildren, Amanda (David) Reinsbach of Savage, Josiah (Alissa) Krause of Minneapolis, Savannah (David) Pietsch of Las Vegas, NV, Kayla Peterson of Minneapolis, Cy Kuschel of Waseca, and Levi Kuschel of Waseca; six great-grandchildren, Breanna, Ethan, and Cole Reinsbach, and McKinley, Berkley, and Huxley Pietsch; and two sisters, Judy Olson of Bear Creek, WI, and Karen (Ralph) Young of Little Chute, WI.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy, Edward; and three other siblings, Ron Kuschel, Dorothy Egdorf, and Dave Kuschel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church.
