Patti Ann Tesch of Waseca, MN passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on April 6, 2026.
The daughter of John and Mabel (Schwarz) Steck, she was born in Waseca, MN on October 7, 1963. She grew up in Waseca, where she attended Waseca schools and graduated in 1982. Following high school, she continued her education at Mankato Technical College, earning an associate’s degree in accounting. She returned to college while building her career at Brown Printing, balancing work, studies, and caring for her family; earning her bachelor’s degree from Southwest State College. She remained in her role through the transition to Quad Graphics, and when the business closed, she moved into a position as an IT Analyst with Wenger Corporation.
On August 4, 1984, she married her high school sweetheart, Curtis Tesch, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. The couple continued to make their home in Waseca, where they built their life together and raised their family. Patti became a member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she shared her love of music by accompanying the Children’s Choir and sang with the Senior Choir and the Glory Singers.
Patti loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She enjoyed fishing and the fish fry that followed; but when it came to ice fishing, she was more than happy to sit that one out. She had a deep love for the Christmas season, delighting in baking all kinds of treats that became family favorites year after year. She hosted memorable Christmas Eve gatherings and wrote holiday letters that captured the heart of her family’s year with warmth and charm.
Alongside her husband, she cherished days on the golf course and at the bowling alley, turning each outing into a playful challenge to see who would come out on top. On their leisurely bike rides, they enjoyed cruising side by side; but once she got her e-bike, she delighted in playfully zooming ahead, knowing he couldn’t keep up. She also had a passion for puzzles, playing the piano, singing, and crocheting, creating countless handmade gifts for her family over the years.
Patti was a kind, gentle, and humble woman whose warmth touched everyone who knew her. Her love for life, family, and simple joys left a bright mark on everyone around her. She will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Curtis; sons, Brian and Jason; brother, Douglas (Lynn) Steck, parents-in-law, Russell and Marie Tesch; sisters-in-law, Lisa (Bob) Nordman and Kathleen (Roger) Blake; her grand dog, Jordy; along with nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at St John Lutheran Church in Waseca, MN; Pastor Ashley Kuhlman will officiate. Patti’s family will greet guests at a visitation held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the State Street Chapel of the Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, MN and one hour prior to the service at the church.
