Natalie Eileen Brase, age 91, of Waseca, died on March 29, 2026, at Lakeshore Assisted Living in Waseca, MN.
Born on September 8, 1934, in Waseca, MN she was the daughter of Carl and Esther (Bethke) Dinse. She went to country grade school and then to Waseca Central High, graduating in 1952.
She married Donald Brase on September 27, 1953, at St John Lutheran Church of Waseca. She helped her husband with the farming in Meriden Township in Steele County. After her children were through school, she began working at Cedarview Nursing Home in Owatonna, retiring in 1997.
She found joy in doing things for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; especially baking, canning, and making apple pies. She always took time for their events; she "Didn't want to miss anything". She was always ready to help at a moment's notice.
As a long-time and active member of St Paul Lutheran Church of Meriden she enjoyed being involved with the quilting group and teaching Sunday School. She also wove many rugs for people on her loom. In her down time she also liked to play cards, put together puzzles, and work on her crossword puzzle books. She was an avid fan of the MN Twins and Vikings.
She is survived by her children; Rodger (Helen) and Holly (Sheldon); grandchildren, Ann (Miah), Rebecca (Jake), Bethany (Dan “DJ”), and Erin (Steven); great-grandchildren, Bailey, Jackson, Safira, Rohnan, Lucy, and one on the way; brother, Egdar ( Bonnie); special friend, Pat; along with many extended relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don in 2017; and brother, Norman.
Natalie will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family. A heartfelt thank you to Lake Shore Assisted Living for their compassionate care over the past five years.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St Paul Lutheran Church in Meriden, MN; Pastor Billie Jo Wicks will officiate. Natalie’s family will greet guests at a visitation held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
