Nancy Marie Weires

NANCY MARIE WEIRES, age 67 of Janesville, died on the evening of Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Mayo-Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Nancy was born in Estherville, Iowa on September 19, 1958, to parents Lawrence and Catherine (Felber) Weires. She attended school in Janesville and graduated with the class of 1977. She worked for the E.F. Johnson Company in Waseca for many years until they closed. She then worked for Nortech Systems in Mankato until the time of her death.

Nancy enjoyed attending sporting events for her great nieces and nephews, spending time with family and friends, and sitting around campfires. She had a kind heart, was generous with others, and was truly the life of the party. Her contagious laughter could light up any room and she was always quick with a joke – especially about being everyone’s “favorite aunt,” a title she proudly claimed and lovingly earned.

Nancy is survived by five sisters, Jean Reyes of Mankato, Laura (Bruce) Manthe of Janesville, Carrie Weires of Lakefield, Amy (Leonard) DeRusha of Huntertown, IN, and Ann (Shane) Goddard of Hinckley; a sister-in-law, Pat (Ken) Pohlman of Lakefield; the Koep families of the Lakefield area; generations of nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her parents; and two brothers, Steven and Craig Weires.

A memorial visitation will open with special music at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Services, and will close at 7:00 p.m.
