Michael "Mick" Anthony Clemons

January 22, 1947 — March 15, 2026

Waseca, MN

MICHAEL ANTHONY CLEMONS, known to many as Mick, was 79 years old when he died unexpectedly in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 15, 2026 at the Mayo Clinic’s St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, Minnesota. He had been diagnosed with a brain tumor (glioblastoma) the Tuesday before. Jehovah our God was full of mercy for him and he did not suffer. Mick was born in Mankato, Minnesota on January 22, 1947, to his parents Milton and Winifred (Muldoon) Clemons. He spent his early years happily visiting his loving Grandparents Mike and Kate Muldoon on a farm near Madison Lake, Minnesota and often spoke about his wonderful memories of them. He spent his entire life living in Waseca, Minnesota. He went to Sacred Heart School, and graduated a Scarlet. Mick attended Mankato State University and graduated with a degree in Business. He was the first person in his family to attend college. He worked from an early age in the Clemons School and Charter Bus family business. He first started with cleaning buses and when he was a senior in high school he started driving school bus routes. He actually drove classmates to school and would sometimes be late to his first class which was chemistry. During the summer he worked at the Birds Eye plant in Waseca making Cool Whip to earn money to pay for college. He also had many fond memories of his time building and repairing the Chicago North Western Railway between Waseca and Mankato. After graduation he joined The Hartford Insurance Company in Duluth, Minnesota as an adjuster, later moving to their Rochester office for two years. On February 7, 1975 he quit to work full time as a part owner of the family business which he dedicated his life to for 41 years before his retirement in 2016. He loved the school kids and charter groups. He treasured all the friends he made along the way. He was always cheering on his teams or artistic groups, whether they were from Waseca, Mankato, Shattuck-St. Mary’s in Faribault, the Twin Cities, or the Rochester College Choir. He truly enjoyed all the marvelous trips he took them on to nearly all 48 continental states. He took many long extended charter trips with Waseca and area groups to all three coasts of the United States. He was a true bus driver.

On March 3rd of 1977 he met his wife Beth of 47 ½ years on a Chanhassen Theatre bus trip. They were married in 1978 and had two wonderful sons. His boys followed in the early years of his footsteps working for the family business. Mick was a member of Sacred Heart Church. He loved riding bike with Beth on the many Minnesota bike trails and working out at Snap Fitness. He loved to travel. He and Beth were able to go to Ireland and meet many wonderful family members and do a great deal of family history research, which he adored. He was very close to his father-in-law, Eric Parkyn, who taught him how to weld and build fences. They spent many hours together tinkering on projects. More than anything he adored his wife, children, their spouses, and his grandbabies.

Mick is survived by his wife Beth Clemons; his sons, Lucas (Hephzibah “Eppie”) Clemons and Marcus (Tianying Tang) Clemons; three grandchildren, David, Linden and Abigail Clemons; and four siblings, Mary Kay (Dan) Korteum, Judy Conway, Jeanne (Vance) Swanson, and Lisa (Dave) Byron. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother Patrick Clemons. He is also survived by a special Uncle Patrick (Beverly) Muldoon and special first cousins of his father, James (Mary Kay) Myers, Jerry Myers and Wayne Winjum.

Beth has just finished chemo and radiation treatments for cancer. We are asking as a family that, if you are sick, please mask up and send your condolences from a distance.
