Marlys Joan Roemhildt

Marlys Joan (Marzinske) Roemhildt was born July 3, 1937 in Waseca, Minnesota to Robert and Marie (Klampe) Marzinske. Her Savior, Jesus Christ, called her to Himself in heaven on August 29, 2023.

Marlys was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns’s Lutheran Church, Alma City, Minnesota. She graduated from Waldorf High School in 1955 and then attended Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Marlys married Vernon Roemhildt in 1956 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Alma City. They were blessed with three children. Marlys, first and foremost, was a homemaker and mother. She also enjoyed a career in banking for 30 years. In 1996 she retired from Bank One in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Pemberton, Minnesota, with her husband. She enjoyed her time with her siblings and many friends at church and in the Pemberton community.

Still living lives of thankfulness and anticipating the reunion in Heaven are her brother Robert (LeAnn) Marzinske, sister-in-law Valley Marzinske, and her children: Crystal (Robert) Kramer of Greenville, Wisconsin, Cynthia (Adam) Horneber of Pemberton, MN, and Timothy (Jody) Roemhildt of North Mankato, fourteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, her parents, her brother Louis and sister-in-law Norma, and her brother David.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma City. Interment will follow at Alma City Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
