Marilyn Joan Ambroz passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at the Benedictine Community Living Community in Owatonna, MN.
Born on February 13, 1936 in Mankato, MN she was the daughter of Garold and Margaret (More) Probach. She attended and graduated from Pemberton Schools. On June 21, 1956, she married Alvin Ambroz, and together they lived throughout southern Minnesota while raising their three children.
Marilyn was a talented artist who loved all forms of art, particularly drawing. She illustrated a children’s book titled These Are a Few of My Favorite Things, written by Joe Marcotte. One year, her bullhead drawing was also selected as the design for Bullhead Days, Waterville’s town celebration. She worked in various positions throughout her life, most recently as a secretary for the City of Waterville Police Department. However, she especially enjoyed being a homemaker while raising her family, as it allowed her to see her children off to school and be there when they returned home. She took great joy in tending her flower garden, delighting in the brilliant array of colors it produced and the beauty it brought to her days.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Nicky Ambroz and Lori (George) Splinter; grandchildren, Beth Marie Frogge, Nicholas Michael Ambroz, Nicole (Shane) Murphy, and Bridget (Troy Grundhoffer) Miller; 4 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joan Probach; niece, Dawn (Simon) Hernandez; and nephew, Charles Jr. (Julie) Probach.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Larry (Mary) Ambroz; and brothers, Charles Probach Sr and Randy (Sharon) Probach.
She will be laid to rest at Medo Central Cemetery at a later date.
