Lowell Claybaugh, Jr.

Lowell Claybaugh Jr., age 58, of Janesville, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at his home.
Memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, at Starkson & Steffel Funeral Home ~ Arnoldt Chapel in Janesville. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Lowell Claybaugh Jr. was born on February 28, 1961, in Goodland, Kansas, to Lowell Sr. and Della (Leseman) Claybaugh. He attended school in Waterville and received his GED when he was 16. Lowell continued his education at South Central Community College in Faribault where he was taught the trade of welding. In 1979, he enlisted into the United States Army where he honorably served his country until 1981. Following his military service is when he met Evon and they shared 38 years together.
Lowell and Evon first lived in Janesville before moving to Salt Lake City, Utah where they worked for Delta Airlines. Later they moved to Colorado before returning to Janesville to be closer to their family. Lowell worked making eye glasses for children, driving truck for various companies, welded for Corchrans, and at a hardware store to name a few. He was a jack of all trades and could make something out of nothing. Lowell was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time in the woods. His family fondly remembers him as a kind and loving man.
Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Evon; children: Gary of Waseca, Josh (Michelle) of New Jersey, Rebecca (Scott) Frederick of Waseca and Zach of Janesville; grandchildren: Jacob Claybaugh, Cortney Maki, Katie Claybaugh, Alexis Claybaugh and Colton Frederick; great grandchildren: Quinn Claybaugh and Cole Claybaugh; siblings: Harold, Duane, Carl, Steven, Dorothy, Ronald, and Leona; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents: Lowell Sr, 1969, Della, 1995; siblings: Robert and Betty Lou, grandson, Jackson Frederick, 2013; stepfather, George Yehart, 1997.
