LILLY BERTHA KRAUSE, age 96, of Waseca died on December 24, 2022, at Prairie Home Field Crest Assisted Living in Cottonwood.
Born on January 8, 1926, in Weston-Marathon, Wisconsin to August and Clara (Block) Wetzel. Lilly was united in marriage to Victor Elgin Krause on December 27, 1952, at the Assembly of God Church in Wells. Together they had three children and made their home on the farm in Wilton township. Following Victor’s passing in 1959, Lilly continued to live on the farm while raising their children. Lilly was active with her church as a Sunday school teacher. She was a foster mom for many children over the years. Lilly enjoyed gardening, baking and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Lilly is survived by her children: Dennis (Sue) Krause of New Richland, Joel (Kim) Krause of Hauser, ID, and Vicki (Mike) Flugum of Cottonwood; grandchildren: Dennis (Kristin) Krause, Stacey Krause, Joshua (Nicole) Krause, Krystle Krause, Nicolas (Erica) Krause, Marshal (Ryley) Krause, Daniel (Angela) Flugum, Matthew (Tami) Flugum, and Christine (Daniel) Demeules; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her brother, Clarence (Thelma) Wetzel of Wells; sister, Marion (Arlo) Miller of Owatonna; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Carl, Walter, Arnold, and Elmer Wetzel; sister, Ruth Culbertson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Third Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Burial will be in Woodville Cemetery in Waseca. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel on Saturday.
