Lawrence “Larry” Huebsch, 81, of Waseca, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on June 15, 2026.
Larry was born on September 26, 1944, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Otto and Evelyn (Mieske) Huebsch. He attended country school in Danville and later graduated from Minnesota Lake High School.
Following his education, Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Crew Chief while stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Minnesota Lake to help on the family farm.
In 1966, Larry met the love of his life, Cora Auringer. The couple became engaged in 1967 and were married on February 10, 1968, at the Church of Christ in Eagle Lake. Together they built a loving home and welcomed their daughter, Michelle, in 1970.
Larry worked for Herter’s for 11 years and later for E.F. Johnson for 22 years. Following his retirement in 2006, he enjoyed staying active and giving back to his community through various volunteer opportunities. He was a member of American Legion Post 228 and took pride in serving both his country and his community.
Larry enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, woodworking, mowing the lawn, and building with LEGOs. He especially treasured time spent with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Cora Huebsch of Waseca; his daughter, Michelle (Greg) Gardow of Owatonna; his grandchildren, Maddy Gardow (Derek Blair) and Jared Gardow (Becca Zimmer), both of Owatonna; and his brother, Dale (Sandy) Huebsch of Minnesota Lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Evelyn Huebsch, and his sister, Janice Johanson.
Larry will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, his willingness to help others, and the love of God and country he shared with those around him. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Legion Post 228 in Larry's name.
Celebration of Larry’s life will be from 12 – 3 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the American Legion Post 228 in Waseca.
