Lavonne Joyce Harrington

LAVONNE JOYCE HARRINGTON, age 77, of Janesville, Minnesota died Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Mayo Health System – Mankato.

Born February 20, 1946, in Council Grove, Kansas, a daughter of the late Wayne and Marjorie (Iams) Cowdin. On February 15, 1969, she married Tom “Red” Harrington at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. She graduated from Janesville High School, Class of 1964. Lavonne was a beautiful soul who would do anything for anyone. Her kind, compassionate, loving personality would shine towards anyone she met, never meeting a stranger, and always leaving a smile on someone’s face. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who just loved being able to be there for anyone in need. She loved playing cards and spending time with those she loved the most and was a long-time member of Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Janesville and of the St. Ann’s Women’s Guild. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Left behind to forever cherish her memory are her husband of 54 years Red, of Janesville; children, Jennifer Harrington (Jon Frisch) of St. Paul, Jena (Rob) Harrington of Waseca, Wayne (Terra) Harrington of St. Paul; 5 grandchildren, Jaden, Hannah, Mya, Emma, Finn; 2 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Brynleigh; 7 siblings, Diane (John) Ross, Gail (Myra) Cowdin, Neil (Jody) Cowdin, Dwayne (Lori) Cowdin, Brenda (Clay) Turkle, Kathy Iams and Dan (Andrea) Cowdin; Dennis and Greg Jewison who she thought of as her other sons. She is preceded in death by her parents and son Todd Harrington.
