GEORGE O.L. KLAMPE , age 81 of Waseca, died on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Regina Medical Center in Hastings, Minnesota.

Born in Waseca County on November 4, 1931, George was the son of Roy and Anna (Napora) Klampe.  As a young man George attended country school near Waseca.  Following his schooling, he worked with his father Roy and his brother Mike as a part of Klampe & Sons.  Following Roy’s death, the business later became known as Klampe Brothers.  On August 28, 1957, he married Ardean Groskreutz at the First Lutheran Church in Wells.  Together they made their lives outside Waseca, where George raised livestock including beef and dairy cattle, and did custom corn shelling and grain hauling for many years.  George enjoyed working with wood, working puzzles, playing cards, fixing things.  George was a good natured man that always had a smile for everyone, and he loved teasing people.  He was a long-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.

George is survived by his wife Ardean of Waseca; two children, Nancy Brandt of Albert Lea, and Tim (Polly) Klampe of Waseca; and eight grandchildren, Sarah, Ashley, Wesley, Leonard, Richard (Melissa), Samantha, Emily, and Lylah.  He was preceded in death by his parents; two children, Steve and LaJune Klampe; two brothers; and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals in Waseca and will continue for one hour before the service at the church on Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca, with Rev. John Omans officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilton Cemetery in Waseca County.
