Kenneth James Sack

KENNETH JAMES SACK, age 89 of St. Peter formerly of Janesville, died on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at River’s Edge Hospital in St. Peter.

Ken was born in Janesville on August 1, 1935, to parents Ernest and Martha (Berndt) Sack. He attended country school and Janesville schools. Ken married Elaine Proehl at St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca on June 7, 1957, and they remained married for twenty-five years. Over the years Ken worked on the farm, drove a milk truck, worked at Bird’s Eye Foods in Waseca, worked as a mechanic on the Alaskan Pipeline project, and most recently worked for Waseca County Street Department as a real jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing concertina. He was also a past member of St. John Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Ken is survived by five children, James (Kathleen) Sack of Owatonna, Julie (Ron) Lowry of Chapin, SC, Bill (Diane) Sack of Show Low, AZ, Carol; Sack of Nashua, NH, and Steve (Laura) Sack of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Ron (Bonnie) Sack of St. Peter and Jerome (Debbie Jones) Sack of Mankato; and a special friend, Irene Greene. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandy Kewatt; and his previous wife, Elaine Sack.

A private family interment will take place at Janesville Cemetery. A public memorial gathering will be held at a time and place to be later announced.
