Katherine L. LeMieux, age 68, of Faribault, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 14, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Drive) in Faribault. Interment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Katherine Louise, the daughter of Ralph and Elizabeth (Hartman) LeMieux, was born on December 1, 1943 in Faribault. She loved bowling, playing bingo, walking with friends, dogs, cats and all types of animals, listen to country music, watching Bonanza, Matlock, Little House on the Prairie and most recently, Dancing With the Stars. Since a young age, Katherine had been involved with the Rice County Day Activity Center, where she truly enjoyed the opportunity to work in various places in the community and to be with her friends on a daily basis. She also enjoyed going on camping and fishing trips and other family vacations with her foster parents, Jim and Anne Heckert. She is survived by her siblings, Rachel Long, Patricia Jandro, Diane Morris, Jerry (Carol) LeMieux, all of Faribault and Thomas LeMieux of Vancouver, WA; by her foster parents, Jim (Ann) Heckert of Faribault and by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her nephew Michael Stam, her sister in law, Nancy LeMieux and by her brothers in law, Thomas Frendenberg and Eugene Jandro.
