Clifford Jacobs

CLIFFORD H. JACOBS , age 88 of Waterville, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Reflections Hospice in Northfield.

Born in rural Waterville on November 23, 1924, Clifford was the son of Charles and Augusta (Stangler) Jacobs.  After graduating from Waterville High School in 1942, Clifford enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps.  On June 10, 1950, he married Eleanor Vohnoutka in St. Patrick, Minnesota.  Clifford worked his family farm for most of his life, finally retiring in 2003.  He was an avid hunter and conservationist and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor of Waterville; daughter, Linda (Dana) Fitts of Excelsior; two sons, Steven (Jeanne) Jacobs of Fergus Falls, and Mark (Nikki) Jacobs of Waterville; eight grandchildren, Adam Jacobs, Elana Jacobs, Tracy Jacobs, Mary (Adam) Kramvik, Carrie Jacobs, Elizabeth Jacobs, Andrew Fitts and Eric Fitts; one great-grandchild, Hailey Jean Kramvik; and his loyal canine companion, Zeke.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents and one sister, Eunice.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville, with Rev. Denny Dempsy officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be directed to Reflections Hospice in Northfield (507) 664-8801.
