HELEN MARIE HRDLICKA, age 85, died on Friday, October 9, 2020, at Whispering Creek in Janesville.
Helen was born August 17, 1935, in Blue Earth County, she was the daughter of Leslie and Marie (Doss) Lueck. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1953 and later married Chester “Chet” Hrdlicka on May 3, 1956 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato. Through the years, Helen worked primarily as a homemaker, but she had worked a few years at the Elysian school as a playground supervisor. Helen enjoyed genealogy, photography and spending time with family. She was a member of the Elysian Unit 311 Auxiliary and the Elysian United Methodist Church.
Helen is survived by her husband Chet of Elysian; children, Dale (Jackie) Hrdlicka of Le Center, Daryl (Alicia) Hrdlicka of Westbrook, Fred (Rhonda) Hrdlicka of Pella, IA, and Julie Hrdlicka (John Frantum) of Pemberton; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Leroy Lueck of Mankato, Alaine Hoffman (Bob Wolff) of Madison Lake, Richard (Audrey) Lueck of North Mankato, David Lueck of Mankato, and Jerry (Ann) Lueck of Spokane, WA. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, one grandson, brother and sister-in-law, Luverne (Norma) Lueck and sister-in-law, Charmain Lueck.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waterville on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The service at 11:00 AM will be for private family only. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Elysian United Methodist Church, the Alzheimer’s Foundation, or donor’s choice.
