Gwendolynn Rose Pfalzgraff, 92, of Waterville, passed away surrounded by family on May 30, 2026 at Traditions in Waterville.
Gwen was born on January 27, 1934, in Waseca County, Minnesota, to Gardner and Esther (Ewert) Fischer. She was baptized on February 19, 1934, at Iosco Lutheran Church and confirmed on March 30, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. She attended Trinity Lutheran School in Janesville through ninth grade and later graduated from Janesville Public School. On October 10, 1952, she married Edward Leroy Pfalzgraff at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville.
In 1954, Gwen and Edward moved to St. Paul, where she worked in the medical field for 22 years. Following retirement, they returned to southern Minnesota and settled in Waterville in 1991. Gwen enjoyed gardening and fishing and found joy in the simple pleasures of nature, family, and faith.
A devoted member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville, Gwen lived her life with quiet strength, dedication, and kindness. Her faith was an important part of who she was and guided her throughout her years.
Gwen is survived by her son, Daniel (Beverly) Pfalzgraff of Garland, TX; her daughters, Debra (Roger) DeSerano of Eagan, and Rosanne (Daniel) Heinicke of St. Pete Beach, FL; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Pfalzgraff; her parents, Gardner and Esther Fischer; her sisters, Marilynn Roemhildt and Carolyn Westphal; and two infant grandchildren.
Gwen will be remembered for her love of family, especially the special bond she shared with her grandchildren, her steadfast faith, and the warmth she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral service for Gwen will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville with Rev. David Mumme officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will follow at St. John’s Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Iosco Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterville.
