GERALD J. KINGSTON, age 77 of Waseca died on Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.
Born on October 4, 1939 in Alexandria, Minnesota, he was the son of Walter and Sophie (Helmstetter) Kingston.  He graduated from Osakis High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1964.  Gerald married Carol Pommerening on May 19, 1962 in Long Prairie.  He was employed with Hart Press in Long Prairie until 1966 when they moved to Waseca.  He was then employed at Brown Printing Co. until his retirement in 1999.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, and spending time outdoors.  He also enjoyed time spent with his grandkids. Gerald was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca where he served as an elder and trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Carol of Waseca; three children, Jeff (Sue) Kingston of Waseca, Sharon (Curt Roth) Kingston of Bellingham, WA, and Brenda (Mike) Larson of Waseca; seven grandchildren, Brittany (Rocky) Vosters, Brandon Kingston, Tara (Jeff Roemhildt) Larson, Clint (Meghan Monahan) Larson, Morgan Larson, Ian Roth, and Chloe Roth.  He is also survived by two brothers, James (Elaine) Kingston and Ronald Kingston both of Long Prairie.  He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Kathleen; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Jewel Olson; and sister-in-law, Connie Kingston.
Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 4-7 PM and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Giles Zimmer officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
