DR. WAYNE ALAN RUDOLPH, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on June 13, 2026 in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born on October 10, 1930 in Waseca, Minnesota to Herbert J. And Bernice Stafford Rudolph.

Wayne was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, educator, and lifelong learner. He believed deeply in the power of education to change lives and spent his career helping others grow, succeed and reach their potential. Known for his intelligence, integrity, quiet humility and unwavering work ethic, Wayne approached every endeavor with purpose and determination. He led by example, treating others with kindness, respect and fairness and he left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

On June 20, 1953, Wayne married the love of his life, Blanche Claudine Sammons in Red Jacket, West Virginia. Their 73 year marriage was built on love, faith, partnership, and an enduring commitment to each other. Together they raised two children, Warren Alan and Pamela Kay, creating a family that remained the center of Wayne’s life.

Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Air Force before beginning his lifelong career in education.

Wayne earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Mankato State Teachers College in Mankato, Minnesota in 1955, a Master of Arts degree at the University of Minnesota in 1961 and a Doctorate of Education degree from the University of Iowa in 1968.

His distinguished career in education began as a history and typing teacher in Tracy, Minnesota. He later served as principal in Janesville and Zumbrota, Minnesota and Superintendent of Schools in Elmore, Minnesota and ultimately became the first Director of Research and Development at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Throughout his career, he was respected as an innovative leader who believed every community deserved strong schools and opportunities for lifelong learning.

After retiring from Iowa Western, Wayne built an independent accounting firm continuing to serve others until his permanent retirement in 2005.

After he and Claudine moved to New Braunfels, Wayne continued his desire to help others. Through his involvement in community issues, he became a respected member of the city by working on behalf of its citizens and to help make the community a better place.

While Wayne’s accomplishments were many, his greatest pride was his family and he never failed to put them first.
