DOUGLAS RAYMOND EUSTICE, age 76, of Albert Lea, formerly of Cathedral City, CA, passed away on July 24, 2026, surrounded by his family at Thorne Crest Senior Living.
Douglas was born on January 18, 1950, to Donald and Esther (Clayton) Eustice. He graduated from Waseca Central High School and later studied at Brainerd Technical School for one year.
Doug was an industrious man who enjoyed working with his hands. He owned and operated a landscaping business in Waseca for several years before selling the business and moving to Isanti, Minnesota. There, he worked at the Sheriff’s Boys Ranch, where he met Sandra Jensen. The couple was married on December 24, 1982, in St. Joseph, Minnesota.
In 1987, Doug and Sandra moved to Cathedral City, California. Doug devoted his career to working with individuals with disabilities, a role he found deeply rewarding. He continued this work until his retirement. Doug and Sandra later divorced. In August of 2020, he returned to Minnesota due to declining health.
Doug enjoyed woodworking, knitting, baking, ceramics, caring for animals, and traveling. Throughout his life, he was active in Boy Scouts, FFA, Explorers, and 4-H. He was known for his creativity, strong work ethic, and caring nature.
He is survived by his stepdaughters, Mischelle Larson of Superior, WI, Traci (Russ) Salzbrun of Zimmerman, Stephanie Stephens of Palm Desert, CA; siblings, Gary (Ann) Eustice of Hibbing, Rebecca (Tom) Bruner of Pleasanton, CA, Brad (Mary K.) Eustice of Bloomington, Todd (Patty) Eustice of Mora, Barry (Bonnie) Eustice of St. Ansgar, Iowa, Barb (John) Hertzog of Waseca; sister-in-law, Sue Eustice of Alexandria; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Esther Eustice; brother, Scott Eustice; sister, Margaret “Peggy” Schwab; and grandparents, Raymond and Jessie Clayton and Tom and Ethel Eustice.
