Dolly Dougherty June 8, 1933 - July 2, 2010
Dolly B. Dougherty, age 77, of Minnetonka, died on Friday, July 2, 2010 at her home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, with Rev. Craig Breimhorst, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Dolly Belle Ramey, the daughter of Patrick Ben Arte and Ida Belle (Rush) Ramey, was born on June 8, 1933 in Owasa, Iowa. She went to school in Iowa Falls, IA. She was united in marriage to Richard E. Dougherty on July 3, 1948 in Eldora, Iowa. They lived in Iowa Falls until 1951 when they moved to Southern California. Richard was killed in an industrial accident on April 19, 1955 in Barber City, CA. Dolly married Richard''s brother Don Dougherty on Sept. 4, 1956. They lived in Downey, CA, Whittier, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Seattle, WA, Cupertino, CA, New Hope, MN and Minnetonka, MN. Dolly was a homemaker all her married life, loved taking care of children, and was a gourmet cook. She is survived by her husband, Don of Minnetonka, MN; four children, David (Katie) Dougherty of Montrose, MN, Connie Dougherty of Chaska, MN, Terry (Bill) Steranko of Santa Clarita, CA, and Sharon (Tom) Starks of Shorewood, MN; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Frank (Eileen) Ramey of Iowa Falls, IA; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dougherty; parents; brothers, Clarence, Harold, and Richard Ramey; and sisters, Laura Rush, Ruby Sharpshair, Florence Lursten and Betty Stadler. Dolly''s family would like to thank North Memorial Hospice, Robbinsdale, MN, for all the excellent help they provided.
