Dennis Everett Vee

March 14, 1950 — May 21, 2026

Fort Meyers, Florida

DENNIS EVERETT VEE, age 76, of Fort Myers, FL and formerly Medina, MN, passed away on May 21, 2026 after a long battle with brain cancer and Parkinson’s disease.

He was born in Albert Lea, MN on March 14, 1950 to parents Marjorie and Everett Vee. He graduated from Bricelyn High School and received his BS in Parks and Recreation at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Dennis spent most of his career as a sales representative in the electrical field, where he made lifelong friends with many of his customers and work associates. Everyone knew “Happy Day!”

Dennis was very active in the local community. He was a member of the Hamel Lions for many years, started the Freeze Your Buns Run, and was a proud member of the Hamel rodeo committee. He also volunteered with the West Hennepin Ducks Unlimited Chapter, where he enjoyed playing auctioneer. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Medina and Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Myers. Horses were his true passion, from daily feedings and barn, fence, pasture maintenance to trail rides to Caballeros del Norte to helping run the VIP section and t-shirt sling-shot at Hamel rodeo events.

As well as horseback riding, Dennis enjoyed watching the Vikings, boating, traveling, music and classic cars. One of his most memorable trips was driving his 1938 Chevy from Minnesota to Seattle and back. Dennis was a social butterfly and life of the party. He thrived on visiting the neighbors, friends, and family and always had a story or joke to share.

He loved his daughters fiercely, attended all their sporting events, built a swing set and roller rink in the basement, initiated a trampoline sales network to get discounted tramps for the entire neighborhood, took them camping and boating, created games and rituals, helped with Halloween costume creation, knew all their friends, and was just a great dad and grandpa.

Dennis and Lin had true love, they understood each others needs, provided space to be who they were, had the same parenting values, lived daily life and traveled together with ease and enjoyment. They built a life with friends and family whom they loved spending time with both near home and traveling the globe. Dennis is survived by his wife Lin, daughters Megan Vee (Carley Zepeda) and Monica Jampsa, granddaughters Ashley Jampsa and Josie Beth, brother Richard Vee, brothers in-law Bob (Maria) Stoering, Bruce Stoering, and Clayton “Buddy” Stoering, and sister in-law Lisa Klug (Bill), as well as aunts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter Katie Vee, parents Everett and Marjorie Vee, parents-in-law Milo and Gladys Stoering, sisters-in-law Judy Vee and Nancy Stoering, and granddaughter Calyn Jampsa.
