Ellendale, Minnesota

DEBRA ANNE (CAMBERN) YOUNGBERG, age 68, of Ellendale passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at the Owatonna Hospital.

Debra was born on April 10, 1957, in Austin, Minnesota, the daughter of Dale and Beverly (Havener) Cambern. She attended Austin High School and graduated with the Class of 1975. She was united in marriage to Gregory Nelson in Albert Lea in 1993. From this union, they welcomed a daughter, Brianna. The couple later divorced. Throughout her career, Deb worked various jobs in the food service and hospitality industry, most notably owning Main Street Bar and Grill in Manchester and being director of food services at the Freeborn County Detention Center.

On September 3, 2010, Deb married Corey Youngberg in Augusta, Georgia. In 2019, Deb and Corey retired together, embracing and enjoying the goodness of life side by side.

Deb was a natural entertainer. Whether chatting with people while working or hosting family gatherings, she loved bringing people together. She especially enjoyed planning family events, spending quality time with those she loved most, and spoiling her grandkids. Deb had a passion for gardening, seasonal decorating, shopping, and putting together matching outfits. She also enjoyed playing cards, visiting the casino, playing pull tabs, and dearly loved her dog, Louie.

Deb is survived by her children, Brianna Nelson of Bloomington, Oliver (Kendra) Youngberg of Waseca, Henry Youngberg (Elie) of Stevens Point, WI; grandchildren, Rory and Khobi Peck; siblings, Jay Cambern of Wisconsin, Diane Ranger of Albert Lea, Joel Cambern of Austin, Brian (Terri) Cambern of Austin; sister-in-law, Cathie Conway of Albert Lea; several nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Louie; and granddogs, Macy and Murphy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Corey Youngberg; parents, Dale and Beverly Cambern; brother, Jon Cambern; sister, Susie Avery; and mother-in-law, Lucille Youngberg.

Celebration of Deb’s life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the celebration at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston at a later date.
