DAVID JOHN FOGAL, age 68 of Waseca, died Saturday, September 28, 2024, at his residence.
He was born on April 20, 1956, in Wells, a son of John and Rosa (Tesch) Fogal. He graduated from Owatonna High School – Class of 1974. Following school David began working for the railroad, a part of the “tye gang” where he’d work for two years. Throughout his early years of work, he also worked for Fogal TV Service, his family’s business, as a second job. He also worked for the National Tree Service for a year and a half as a power pole inspector; Brown-Printing for 15 years as a press operator; Clear Lake Press for 14 years as a print press supervisor; and before he took sick, most recently at Corchrans as a metal fabricator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, spending time with his family, admiring “pretty women”, and enjoying his Winston cigarettes. David always had a positive, happy attitude, who always held his family’s best interests in mind. His jokes and sense of humor could light up a room with laughter, he will be missed by all who knew him. Prior to his illness, he spent his last years taking care of his mother in Owatonna. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waldorf.
He is survived by his mother; his children, Nicole (Agustin Torres) Fogal of Mankato, Dustyn (Krista) Fogal of Waseca, Coltyn (Sara) Fogal of Montgomery, Chantyl Fogal, of Waseca; 11 grandchildren; two siblings, Donna (fiancé Tommy Padilla) Holtan Halverstadt of Corcoran, and Debra (Jim) Kron of Baxter; his ex-wife, Sheila Griffin, and several nieces, nephews, and extended relatives. He is preceded in death by his father, and brother Michael Fogal.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at, 11:00 AM, at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Visitation will be held for one prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at First Lutheran Cemetery in Waldorf. The family asks for the service, to wear your best camouflage attire to honor David’s life as well as his love for nature.
