David "Dave" Percy Weller

October 1, 1964 — April 7, 2026

Waseca, Minnesota

DAVID “DAVE” PERCY WELLER, age 61, of Waseca, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Born on October 1, 1964 in Waseca, Dave was the son of Jack and Zetta (Fickling) Weller. Dave graduated from Waseca High School with the class of 1983. Dave lived life on his own terms—full of stories, adventure, and a spirit that could not be contained. After graduating high school, he worked various jobs throughout his life, most notably truck driving. He was a hard worker, but more than that, he was always on the move—helping others, chasing the next experience, or simply striking up a conversation with someone new.

Dave was known for his larger-than-life personality. He loved people and never hesitated to talk with anyone, anywhere. Whether shooting pool, visiting local establishments, or stopping in to see friends—sometimes unexpectedly—Dave found joy in connection. He had a gift for storytelling, often sharing colorful tales from his life that could be heard again and again, each time just as entertaining.

A man of deep faith, Dave was spiritual and generous to a fault. He would give whatever he had to help someone in need, often putting others before himself. He truly believed everything would work out, and he lived with a sense of freedom and trust that carried him through life’s ups and downs.

Above all, Dave loved his family. He was fiercely protective of his children and would do anything for them. While life may not always have been predictable with Dave, one thing was never in question—his love. His presence, whether frequent or unexpected, was always a gift.

He is survived by his children, Kera (Dana) Gostomczik of Waseca, Cassie (Theron) Kruger of Waseca, Cory Weller of South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and Courtney (Gordon) MacNeill of Woodside, California; along with eleven grandchildren, Kade, Kaleb, Maddyn, Romyn, Aeyro, and Nayvi Gostomczik, Adelynne, Triston, and Everett Kruger, Aiden Weller, and Geordie MacNeill; his father, Jack Weller (Sue Hawks); siblings, Brian (Lori) Weller, Mark (Missy) Weller, Jeremy Weller, and Mike (Amy Moody) Weller; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Zetta Weller; brother, John Weller; and sister-in-law, Courtney Kitzman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
