Darlene Luverne Witt

DARLENE LUVERNE WITT, age 87 passed away at her home on Friday, March 6, 2026 in Waseca.

Born on November 30, 1938 at the family home in Waldorf, Darlene was the daughter of Victor and Irene (Ewert) Witt. She attended Waldorf High School. Throughout her life, Darlene worked various jobs, most notably as a machinist for Owatonna Tool Company. She dedicated more than forty years to OTC before retiring. Darlene was also a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville.

Darlene took pride in keeping things neat and tidy. She enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to her yard and always made sure her car was spotless. In her free time, she loved playing cards—especially rummy—riding her moped, playing bingo, and trying her luck with scratch-off tickets. She also cherished the time spent with her family and friends.

Darlene is survived by her sister, Annie Recknor of Wells; special friend, Jane Schwickerath of Waseca; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Irene Witt; and brothers, Orville, Donald, and Elvin Witt.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Janesville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Janesville Cemetery.
