Dale Elmer Froehlich

July 23, 1940 — April 2, 2024

St. Clair, Minnesota

DALE ELMER FROEHLICH, age 83, of St. Clair, died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 2, 2024, at his home.

Born on July 23, 1940, in Mankato, he was the son of Oscar and Edna (Bollman) Froehlich. Dale attended St. Clair Public School, graduating with the class of 1958. In 1961, he enlisted into the United States Army where he was trained as a combat engineer until his honorable discharge in 1965. Dale has always enjoyed traveling; in his younger years he had a special interest in traveling to Mexico where he met his future wife, Maria Del Carmen in Acapulco. They were united in marriage on March 20, 1970. Dale and Maria made their home in St. Clair while raising four children. In 2021, Dale discovered he had another son, Doug, and he was warmly accepted into the family.

Dale began his working career in construction, which brought him to Hawaii for a short time. He also worked on the family farm alongside his dad, brother, and uncle where they raised turkeys and crops before beginning a 21-year career as a quality inspector for MEI, retiring in 2007. His interest in traveling continued into his retirement years. Dale and Maria would travel every winter until his health no longer allowed. Dale enjoyed reading, listening to music, camping, going up north fishing, his cars, and motorcycles. He was a member of the St. Clair American Legion Post 347, St. Clair Fire Department and St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Dale had a charismatic personality as he could visit and befriend anyone. He will be remembered as a strong, kind, and loving man who cherished his family and the memories he made with them. Blessed be his memory.

Dale is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Maria; children, Doug (Jessica) Boie of Minnetonka, John (Shannon) Froehlich of North Mankato, Raymond Froehlich of St. Clair, Anthony Froehlich of St. Clair and Linda Froehlich (Eric Gendreau) of Eagle Lake; grandchildren, Olivia, Maddie, and Ben Boie, Cole (Alexis) Froehlich and Kiera Froehlich, Jaden Froehlich, Wesley and William Gendreau; siblings: Joan Pagenkopf of Reeds Lake, and Dan (Connie) Froehlich of Mankato; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
