Charlotte Henrietta Frederick

CHARLOTTE HENRIETTA FREDERICK, age 97, of Mankato died on Sunday morning, August 22, 2021, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Mankato.

Born on June 3, 1924, in Mankato to Henry and Frances (Schwarble) Dauk. Charlotte attended Good Counsel Academy in Mankato, graduating with the class of 1942. On May 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Harland Charles Frederick at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. In the five years prior to marriage, Charlotte worked at Peoples State Bank in Madison Lake. Charlotte and Harland made their home in rural Madison Lake where they farmed together while raising nine children. She was a wonderful homemaker, always making sure the kids were taken care of and also helped where she was needed on the farm. She enjoyed playing solitaire, gardening, especially strawberries, and having her quiet time listening to polka music and doing needle work. Charlotte was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake where she served as the church organist for 30 years. She was also a member of Christian Mothers and the Lay Carmelites. Charlotte will be remembered for her the love and dedication to her faith and family. Blessed be her memory.

Charlotte is survived by her sons: Carl, Dan (Lila), Alan (Kathleen), Don, and Ron, all of Madison Lake; Mary (Gary) Westberg of Mankato, Maxine (Martin) Preuveneers of Alameda, CA, and Marjory (Tim) Hage of Mankato; five grandchildren: Jesse Frederick, Jenni Baker, Kristen Frederick, Kerri (Isaac) Ferderer, and Toni (Nick) Dick; step grandchildren: Andy and Aspen, and Simon, Rebecca, Katy, Shaun, and Jennifer; great grandchildren: Noah, Logan, Emery and Kayle; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Glenn; three brothers: Jerome (Ann) Dauk, Charles (Lucille) Dauk, and Leo (Edith) Dauk; and two sisters: Marian (Harold) Sexton and Dorothy (Greg) Roemer.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, with the Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM all at the Janesville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the Mass at church on Thursday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery at Madison Lake.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Hillcrest and Cottagewood for the wonderful care Charlotte received.
