Bruce DeGroot

Bruce Don DeGroot, age 45, of Waterville passed away after a battle with cancer at his home on Friday, May 26, 2023.

Born on March 1, 1978 in Faribault, Bruce was the son of Donald and Linda (Thomas) DeGroot. He attended Medford Public Schools and completed his GED from Faribault High School. He was a mechanic at Northfield Ford. Bruce was always a helpful hand. He found enjoyment fixing cars for others. He loved playing softball and riding around on his 3 & 4 wheelers. He was a loving son who will be dearly missed.

Bruce is survived by his mother, Linda (Stan) Jacobs; children, Cindal (Taylor) Breckenridge-Hedberg, Paige (Cody) Gentry, Carter Breckenridge; siblings, David DeGroot, Samantha (Randy) Novak, Paul (Kim) DeGroot, Nick (Nicollet) Jacobs, Carissa (Joseph) Kuball; three grandchildren; special friend, Jill Krenske; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald DeGroot; paternal grandparents, Art and Dorothy DeGroot; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Maple Thomas.

A Celebration of Bruce’s Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at The Village in Waterville. Arrangements by Dennis-Steffel-Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service.
