Bonita Marie (Bonnie) Roalson, age 79 of St. Clair died on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 following a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato with Paster Austin Wellhousen officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church. Following a luncheon, interment will be at Medo-McPherson Cemetery in St Clair at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Bonnie Roalson was born on August 16, 1946 to Gerald and Muriel (Froehlich) Mace in Mankato, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Bonnie graduated in 1964 from St. Clair High School. After high school, she completed cosmetology school and went to work for Mr. Allen's salon as a beautician in Mankato before branching out with her two friends and coworkers, Joann Huber and Jolene Anderson to start their own salon, JBJ's, in Mankato. She worked there until her retirement.
On May 29, 1969, she was united in marriage to Ronald D. Roalson at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Bonnie and Ron raised their family with two sons, James and Andrew, and have resided in St. Clair their entire married life. Bonnie enjoyed gardening, shopping, going for walks, and spending time with friends and family. Bonnie was a member of Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Roalson of St. Clair; her son, James (Kimberly) Roalson and her three granddaughters, Rebecca, Megan and Nina of Lakewood CO; her sisters Geraldine (Dave) Sonday of St. Clair and Geneva (Paul) Mueller of St Peter; her sister-in-law Shawn (Mace) Sickler and her husband Dave of Madison Lake; by many cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Muriel (Froehlich) Mace; her son, Andrew Roalson; and her brother, Nathan Mace.
