Betty May Dardis

May 7, 1947 — June 11, 2026

Sioux Falls

Betty May Dardis passed away peacefully, continuously surrounded by her three girls and her loved ones on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Betty was born on May 7, 1947 in Waseca, MN. She met David N. Dardis and they wed on October 7, 1968. She was a devoted stay at home mom for the better part of her life and raised three beautiful girls, Dodi Martin, Becki Plueger and Brandi Martyna. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) in early years and spent a lifetime battling the debilitating disease.

Betty was a beautiful woman with a tender heart and soul. She loved to sit outside and take in the sun while reading a book. She enjoyed catching up on the latest TV shows, streaming the TLC channel all day and connecting with her dear friends. She had a love for butterflies, the color teal, and you would never catch her without her cup of water with extra ice.

Betty spent a couple decades at the Good Samaritan (2nd and Minnesota) Center in Sioux Falls, SD and became a highlight to a few of the staff. She was frequently visited and remained close to her children and grandchildren. Betty’s bright smile and laughter will be missed daily by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Dodi (Todd) Martin, Becki Plueger, Brandi (Darin) Martyna; and grandchildren - Chalee Ragatz, Hunter Plueger, Tanner Plueger, Asher Plueger (favorite dog) Nyah Martyna, Tayla Martyna and Gemma Martyna. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Genevieve “Jenny” Robinson; and her husband, David Dardis.

Graveside services will be held at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
