Barbara Marie Fennert

Barbara Marie Fennert, age 74, of Waseca, MN passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026.

Born on May 29, 1952, in Easton, MN she was the daughter of Allen and Gloria (Hamson) Borglum. She attended and graduated from Waldorf-Pemberton Schools and later went on to further her education at Rasmussen College and Concordia College earning a bachelor's degree. Throughout her career, she was employed at Brown Printing and Clear Lake Press.

In 1971, she married Larry Fennert, and together they raised two children, Jason and Melanie. The couple later divorced. She was known for her strong work ethic and was dedicated to providing for her children as they grew up. Becoming a grandmother brought her immense joy, and she also cherished spending time cuddling with her beloved grand pups. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and sewing, and later in life she took pleasure in coloring as a relaxing pastime. She was also an avid reader who found great enjoyment in getting lost in the pages of a good book.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jason (Angela) Borglum of Mankato and Melanie (Corey) Johnson of Lonsdale; two grandchildren, Chaise Johnson and Makenzie Johnson; siblings Richard (Marie) Borglum, Darrel (Sue) Borglum, Raymond (Barb) Borglum, Tammy (Paul) Engen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria and Allan Borglum; sister, JoAnne Kelling; brother, Jerry Borglum; and her grand puppies, Daisy, Ace, and Pavarotti.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026,at 11:00 AM at the State Street Chapel of the Dennis Steffel Omtvedt Funeral and Cremation Service in Waseca, MN; Pastor Ashley Kuhlman will officiate. Barbara's family will greet guests at a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca, MN.
