Arvid Kenneth Tollefson

ARVID KENNETH TOLLEFSON JR. (Tully), age 76, of West Fargo, North Dakota, died peacefully on May 11, 2020 on his own terms after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 11, 1943, in Gainesville, Texas, to Arvid Sr. and Adalyne (Waletzke) Tollefson. Arvid was raised in Waseca where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, graduating with the class of 1961. Following his education, Arvid enlisted into the United States Army on July 20, 1961 and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1964. On December 3, 1992, Arvid was united in marriage to Rosalyn Marie Reynolds at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.

Arvid owned and operated Tollefson Sanitation in Waseca for many years. In 2002, he began working in the real estate field as a sales consultant and land development agent for Tollefson Development until retiring in 2010. Because of Arvid’s personable nature, once you met him you were his friend for life. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo. Arvid was also a member of the American Legion and VFW serving as a past commander for the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, watching sports, playing horseshoes, darts, and trivia. He will be dearly missed.

Arvid is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rosalyn of West Fargo; children: Kenneth (Kristi) Tollefson of St. Joseph, MI, Erik Tollefson of Ft. Mill, SC, Blake Tollefson of Wesley Chapel, FL, Matt Tollefson of Waseca, Charles (OnaLee) Slowinski of Mapleton, Lori Lyson of Fargo, and Steven (Denise) Slowinski of Byron; four grandchildren: Krystal, Julia, Alanna, and Kaleb Tollefson; siblings: Betty Malling of Pflugerville, TX, and Jerry (Karen) Tollefson of Champlin; sisters-in-law: Annette (Larry) Ludwig, Mary Jo Myer, Janice Thomson, Patricia (Jimmy) Bergerson, Shirley (Linn) Thoen, and Bridget (Gene) Tarp; brother-in-law, Colonel James (Elaine) Reynolds; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Ann Tollefson; brother, Randy Tollefson; and baby son, Todd Elliot Tollefson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca, with Father The Hoang officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour before the service at the church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca.
