Wayne "Chick" Abraham

WAYNE “CHICK” EMIL ABRAHAM, age 65, of rural Janesville died on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Born on May 25, 1955, in Waseca to Wayne and Mildred (Marsh) Abraham. Chick attended Janesville High School, graduating with the class of 1973. He continued his education at Albert Lea VoTech where he pursued being an electrician and later obtained his goal of becoming a Master Electrician. On March 8, 1999, Chick was united in marriage to Laurel Eileen Gelhar DeBoom. Together they made their home outside Janesville where they shared many memories. Chick worked various jobs throughout his life before beginning a career at Kato Engineering as a Master Electrician. He was a very intelligent man who had a great memory. Chick enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially deer hunting on and around his property in his stand which many would consider a “condo”. Chick took great pride in taking over as caretaker of Bunker Hill Cemetery in rural Janesville. It was at Bunker Hill Cemetery where Chick would begin his birthday celebration every year on Memorial Day. Chick cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Chick is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Laurel of Janesville; children: Emily Abraham of Waseca, Jared Abraham of Janesville, Jason Meservey of Waseca and Timothy Meservey of Seattle, WA; grandchild, Jasmine Meservey; nieces: Wendy, Fay, and Julie; nephew, Gary; and many friends.

Preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Wendell, Wade, and Wilbur.
