Roger E. Larson
ROGER E. LARSON, age 89 of Waseca, died at his home on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
Born in Waseca on December 22, 1928, Roger was the son of Edward and Pearl (Krassin) Larson.  As a young man he attended rural Waseca schools.  On June 15, 1951 Roger married Lorna McColley.  He worked as a farmer for much of his life, starting out on a rented farm in Waseca. In 1972 he purchased his own dairy farm near Claremont which he operated until returning to Waseca in 1976.  Upon his return he worked on Waseca area farms before beginning a career with Brown Printing in Waseca.  Becoming disabled in 1984, Roger joined his wife providing child care.  Those families became extended family to Lorna and Roger.  He was "Grandpa" to all, with loving connections to the end of his life.  Roger enjoyed fishing and playing cards, and he was an active member of the Waseca Senior Citizens Center and Christ the King Lutheran Church.
Roger is survived by five children, Scott Larson of Waseca, Lorri Larson (Jerry Bruce) of Blue Earth, Sheri (Don) Koski of Bellevue, NE, Marie (Norm) Mehls of Bigelow, and Kerri (Todd) Kennedy of Waseca; eight grandchildren, Leanna (Ray) Hyatt, Emily (Ankit) Deshar, Alecia Koski, Bailey Koski, Cody Livingston, Dylan Livingston, Alysha Kennedy, and Nick Kennedy; and two great-grandchildren, Presley Deshar and Miles Hyatt.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lorna; one brother, Stanley Larson; one sister, Deloris Larson-McColley; one daughter-in-law, Tina Larson; and one granddaughter, Ashley Ellison-Kennedy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Waseca with Rev. Cary Larson officiating.  Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until the time of the service at the church on Saturday.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery.
