Rodney 'Butch' Bokman September 22, 1940 - April 27, 2014

Rodney "Butch" Bokman, age 73, of Faribault, MN, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault, surrounded by his family, following a lengthy battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 139 Mercy Drive, Faribault, with Fr. Kevin Finnegan, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the St. Lawrence Cemetery in Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and on Friday for one hour prior the services at the church.

Rodney John Bokman was born on September 22, 1940 in Faribault to Albert and Oliva (Thibodeau) Bokman. He graduated from Faribault High School with the class of 1960. He was united in marriage to Joyce Condon on August 18, 1962. Butch worked at Gopher Shooter Supply in Faribault for 18 years, then at Sheldahl in Northfield for 18 years until his retirement. Following his retirement he worked part-time at Nelsons Super Value and WalMart until he became ill. Butch loved to fish, hunt, play cards, and take trips to Lake Dora in northern Minnesota. He also thoroughly enjoyed socializing at family gatherings.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bokman of Faribault; children, Michael Bokman (and special friend Ann McAdam), Thomas (Brenda) Bokman, Jeremy (Becky) Bokman, and Melissa Bokman (and special friend Patrick Ermer), all of Faribault; eight grandchildren, Andrew Bokman, Matthew Bokman, Jordan Bokman, Mariah Bokman, Taylor Bokman, Alec Bokman, Tasha Bokman, and Jedda Bokman; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gordon; and sisters, Donna Bokman, Laura Mae Wolf and Geri Radatz.
