Robin Farmer

November 30, 1966 — June 30, 2017

Robin Lin Farmer
Robin Lin (Olson) Farmer passed away quietly in her sleep, at her home in Waseca, Minnesota on Friday, June 30, 2017.
Robin was born on November 30, 1966 in Rochester, Minnesota. Robin was very close to her grandparents and treasured time with her family and friends. She enjoyed camping, fishing with her dad, supporting her brothers hockey career, playing Pinochle and Zioncheck with her family. Robin graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1985 and went on to Cosmetology school. She loved music and supporting local bands.
Robin married and had her first child, Cody, shortly before moving to Florida in 1993 where she had her second child, Katelin. Robin enjoyed taking her children to the beach with their cousins; she was a volunteer at their elementary school and instilled in them a love of reading; she was always the first in line for the newest Harry Potter book, which they would read together, over and over – inspiring a shared passion for the Wizarding World. In 2004, Robin and her children moved to Waseca, Minnesota to be near family. She loved going home to Grand Forks for a Grinder at the Red Pepper. Robin adopted her niece, Jadyn, and loved and raised her as her own. Robin is known as a second mom to so many of her childrens friends, who loved her dearly and will always remember her as the "cool" mom in the neighborhood. Robin had a gentle and generous spirit; her door and heart always open to those in need of a friend, a kind word, thoughtful advice or a safe place. Despite her many health issues, Robin never lost her sense of wonder of the world, her hope, her laughter, her enthusiastic support of the Minnesota Vikings, her love of children and animals, or her steadfast loyalty and devotion to those she loved.
Robin is survived by her father, Gary (Genny) Olson; mother, Linda (Holderness) Olson; brother, Steve (Roberta) Olson; sister Wendy (Brian) Severeid; son, Cody Farmer; daughters, Katelin Farmer and Jadyn Farmer; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Gaylan & Phyllis (Fundingsland) Olson and Leonard & Bertha (Thompson) Holderness. Robin will be greatly missed by many whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca with Rev. John Omans officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
