Born in Dunseith, ND on March 13, 1928, Minnie was the daughter of Arthur and Myrtle (Klang) McMurlyn. Her family moved to Newald, WI in 1930 and then to Elysian in 1943. Over the years she had attended schools in Newald, WI, and Nelma, WI before graduating from Waterville High School. She later continued her education at Mankato Commercial College where she studied secretarial work. Minnie married Donald Milbrath on August 24, 1946 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Waterville. Hockey Co. in Elysian, cooked at Homestead Inn in Elysian, and was finally a machine operator at Precision Molding Company in Waterville/Elysian. Most local people, though, would remember her work as a seamstress for nearly all her life. She loved to dance, sew, work in her flower gardens, and watch the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Twins.

Minnie is survived by three children, Michael (Mary) Milbrath of Mankato, Barbara (James) King of Waseca, and Peggy (Dan) Weber of Le Center; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Debbie; seven sisters, Clarice, Jean, Bertha, Viola, Kathryn, Margaret, and Mary Ellen; and five brothers, Edgar, Stuart, Clifford, Francis, and Clarence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Waterville Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Monday. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
