Marcelline M. Hanscom, age 84, of Faribault, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault following an extended illness. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church (139 Mercy Dr.) in Faribault, with the Rev. Kevin Finnegan, pastor officiating. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault. Marcelline Mary Muhl, the daughter of Henry and Victoria (Benjamin) Muhl, was born on November 5, 1924 in St. Paul, MN. She attended Faribault High School and graduated with the class of 1942. On September 28, 1942 she was united in marriage to John F. Hanscom Sr. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Mr. Hanscom preceded her in death on April 2, 2009. Marcelline worked for over 20 years at the Faribault State School and Hospital. Later she was the Deputy Registrar in Rice County for over 15 years until her retirement. She is survived by seven children, Mary Anne (Jim) Smith of Faribault, John Jr. (Judy) Hanscom of Faribault, Robert (Mary Jo) Hanscom of Burnsville, MN, Daniel (June) Hanscom of Hugo, MN, David (Patty) Hanscom of Faribault, Christine (Mark) Stabnow of Sparta, WI and Michael (Pat) Hanscom of Shakopee, MN; by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; by her son in law, Jerry Hortsch of Sauk Rapids, MN and by other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by her daughter, Kay Anthony Hortsch.
