John C. Jacobson, age 76 of Faribault, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at his home, with his family at his side, following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault on Monday, July 12, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Breimhorst, officiating. Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John Clayton Jacobson, the son of Lorentz & Estelle (Clayton) Jacobson was born on July 18, 1933 in Madelia, MN. He graduated from Madelia High School and attended the University of Minnesota. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After the war he spent a year aboard a submarine on a good will world cruise. In 1965 he was united in marriage to Antoinette Colonna. John was involved in the food service industry for over 40 years and worked at and owned several restaurants. His last job following his retirement was cooking at Basher''s Sports Bar in Faribault where he was known for his excellent ribs. He is survived by his wife Antoinette "Toni" Jacobson of Faribault; by 6 children, Jody Storebo, Patrick (LeAnn) Jacobson, John M. Jacobson and special friend Kari Dienst, Jennifer (Greg) Starkson, Jamie Jacobson and Jason Jacobson; by 11 grandchildren, Nancy Rolff, Jason Starkson, Nichole Storebo, Clayton Jacobson, Katie Starkson, Matthew Jacobson, Kelsey Johnson, Quinton Jacobson, Connor Jacobson, Rylie Starkson and Cassidy Jacobson; by three great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Sierra and Shiloh Rolff and by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and his in-laws.
