Joan Faye Fowler
JOAN FAYE FOWLER, age 81 of Waseca, died on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Foxdale Memory Care in Waseca.
Born on June 8, 1937, Joan was the daughter of Joseph and Phannie (Severn) Stewart.  On October 2, 1952 Joan married Walter Charles Fowler at the First Baptist Church in Glenwood, Iowa.  In addition to a career of over thirty years at the E.F. Johnson Company and ADC (a branch of E.F. Johnson Co) Joan also spent time working as a waitress at the Maplewood Restaurant and the Busy Bee in Waseca.  Having only reached the eighth grade as a young woman, she and her husband both worked together to complete their GEDs as adults.  She was active in her church and she fondly remembered traveling with her husband to Alaska and Europe.  She enjoyed going to Oklahoma twice each year to see family, reading, sewing, her dogs, roses, music, and caring for her grandchildren.  She was a member of the Waseca VFW Auxiliary and Waseca Grace Baptist Church.
Joan is survived by her husband, Walter of Waseca; two daughters, Jacqueline (Lynn) Carlson of Waseca and Cynthia Fowler of Owatonna; one son, Charles Fowler of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Newman and Mabel Taylor both of Council Bluffs, IA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; three sisters; two nephews; and one great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Grace Baptist Church in Waseca, with Rev. Carl Murray officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until the time of the service at the church.  Interment will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
