Janice R. Johnson, age73 of Janesville, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life and Resurrection will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 4:00 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, with Rev. Dr. Larry Griffin, officiating. Interment will be in the Janesville Cemetery.

The Johnson Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Arnoldt- McRaith Funeral Home & Crematory in Janesville, and will continue on Thursday afternoon for one hour prior to services at church. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.

Janice Rae was born on May 16, 1940 to Victor and Dorothy (Worrell) Dimmel in Mankato Minnesota. She was baptized on June 30, 1940 and confirmed on April 11, 1954 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Janice graduated from Janesville High School in 1958. After graduation she was employed by King Optical in Mankato as a receptionist. On October 20, 1961 she was united in marriage to Warren L. "Swede" Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville. Jan and "Swede" raised their family and lived in Janesville their entire married life. For the last 30 years she worked at Lake Shore Inn of Waseca as an activity assistant, and loved helping the residents and staff. Janice was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Janesville, and a longtime member of the Janesville Jaycees. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, word search, shopping, walking, and gardening. Janice cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Warren "Swede" Johnson of Janesville; sons, Jeff (Jana) Johnson of Red Wing, Rich (Cherrie) Johnson of Janesville, Jay (Michelle) Johnson of Shakopee; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Marlene) Dimmel of Janesville; special friend, Theresa Schultz of Janesville; by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Lewis (Leona) Johnson.

A special thank you to Mayo Health System Hospice- Mankato, Dr. Kumar and the Mankato Clinic staff (chemo girls) for the wonderful care and support you have given Janice and our family.
